Pets: Not at moment until I sort the learning to walk out and not spending so much time at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. Sadly Sheppie crossed the Rainbow Bridge 1st July 2017.

Relationship: Single, kind of. I think the term is It’s complicated. Not looking for anyone, Tuesday Girl has my heart.

Bad Habits: Addiction to cheese. Stubbornness. Not doing the washing up.

Smoker/Drinker: Don’t smoke, have occasional cider or beer with friends.

Likes: Good food and company. Stand up comedy. When computer code works first time. Capturing a great photograph.

Disklikes: Hypocrisy, injustice, backstabbing, being accused of things I didn’t do, being blamed for things that are not my fault… Brussell Sprouts (food of the devil!), grilled or fried tomatoes (don’t like the texture), The TV Licence. Tory Nasty Party government. UKIP. People and institutions abusing rights of disabled people. Places and people shaming mothers for breastfeeding.

Phobias: Dentists.

Interests: Photography, Web Design and Development, Graphic Design, Writing (especially Poetry) and Cookery. I love exploring canals. Sadly I don’t go as far or for as long as I used to due to my bad leg meaning I’m reliant on a wheelchair to get further than about twenty metres at a time. Steps and slopes are a utter nightmare.

Soon will be adding a scanner for 35mm film negatives, VHS video conversion.

Odd Stuff

I’m very, very allergic to penicillin.

Between the ages of 8 and 11 I wanted to be a marine biologist. Oceans still fascinate me.

I have no big toenail. I had no big toenails once. Now I have had my left below knee amputation surgery only have one big toe without a nail.

Books/Author(s): There’s masses of authors I like, as I really enjoy curling up with a good book or listening to Audible books. My absolute favourite book is Magician by Raymond E Feist. Have loved Magician and been reading Feist since I was a teenager. He’s my favourite author.

Some of the other authors I like in no particular order…. Tamsyn Murray, Ash Cameron, Tom Reynolds, Isabelle Grey, Terry Pratchett, Heloise Goodley, Ed Macy, Rebecca Gablé (Warrington Chronicles, Scarlet City trilogy).

Stand Up Comedy: Andy Parsons, Katherine Ryan, Russell Howard, Aisling Bea, Tiff Stevenson,Jason Manford…

Movie(s): I love movies, in no particular order – Coyote Ugly, Cocktail, Serenity, Electric Dreams (awesome soundtrack as well), Titanic, Over The Hedge, Harry Potter movies (especially PoA), Fantastic Beasts (prefer first one) Back to the Future (prefer first one), Madagascar (all), Hunger Games (prefer the first one), Fast Girls, Star Wars (The Force Awakens;amazing), Land Girls, Our Girl, Equalizer (1,2) and Enigma.

TV: I watch very little TV but also in no particular order… Our Girl (Especially one off drama and Series 1 #TeamMolly), The Rookie, Firefly, Home Fires, Chicago Fire, Chicago Blue, Chicago Med, Food Unwrapped, Doctor Who, No Offence, Ed Stafford: Naked and Marooned, Ed Stafford: Into The Unknown. More likely to be watching documentaries and stuff can learn from rather than stuff like X Factor.

Animal(s)Absolute favourite has always been otters. I also like tigers and of course border collies. Birds of prey fascinate me, I’d love to do falconry.

I look so much younger and surprised as LeAnn put her arm round my waist.

Music: HUGE fan of LeAnn Rimes. I went to see her at London Appollo in 2004 and got to meet her afterwards in VVIP lounge – got a signed tour poster and my photo taken with her. She’s really very lovely and very short! Also went in 2013, Shania Twain, Kylie Sackley, (especially love – I Wanna Do Bad Things To You [special song]) and Love Don’t Come Lately), Colbie Caillat, Keith Urban (Favourite songs – You’ll Think Of Me, Your Everything, Making Memories of Us, Cop Car, Sweet Thing, Tu Compania, Top Down), Kelly Clarkson (Love her albums: My December and All I Ever Wanted).

Partial to a lot of Avril Lavigne songs (My Happy Ending, Things I’ll Never Say, Sippin’ On Sunshine, I’m With You).

I love the song Torn by Natalie Imbruglia (and the David Armand Karaoke for the Deaf version!).

Place(s): I love the hills around my home town of Chesham.

Food(s): My home made cheesecakes, my home made omelettes (all are really good so friends tell me it would be rude not to agree with them :-D). I also like bacon and runny fried egg sandwiches.. cooked breakfasts in general. I have a really bad biscuit habit and am addicted to eating rice pudding cold straight out of tin.

Drink(s): I rarely drink alcohol, so it’s a cup of tea (just a little milk and one sugar now. Will eventually drop the one sugar), fruit juice or milkshake (especially Frijj Banoffe or Raspberry and White Chocolate).

Possession/Thing(s):Photo album of my daughter when she was little, mobile phone, tablet and in a fire I’d save those first, in that order. Hopefully I’d have time to save my backup drive/USB keys or even better the whole tower unit of my PC. Remembering of course the saying you are only as good as your last backup.

Quote(s): I love quotes, they’ve always fascinated me (A lot of my favourite quotes are on the Thought Of The Day RSS Feed). Probably my absolute favourite is by Mary Anne Radmacher “Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow.” Anyone who knows me well will know why that’s a favourite. (Graphic Version)

Another favourite is from Magician by Raymond E Feist. She came into his arms and he held her close, her head against his chest. Softly she said, ‘Father Tully says that some loves come unbidden like winds from the sea, and others grow from the seeds of friendship.’ ‘I will hope for such a harvest, Carline.
